Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents,

As we come to the end of Term One and prepare our hearts for Holy Week and Easter, I would like to take a moment to reflect with gratitude on what has been a rich, energetic and faith-filled beginning to the school year at Holy Family.

From the very first week, our students settled quickly into learning routines, supported by the dedication and care of our staff. Staff Development Days set a strong foundation for the year, and from the commencement of Kindergarten through to Year 6, our classrooms have been places of curiosity, engagement and growth. Early learning assessments and teacher observations have already helped us to know our students well, ensuring learning is purposeful and grounded in high expectations.

Our school motto, Strength and Gentleness, has been clearly visible throughout the term. Students have demonstrated strength through perseverance in learning challenges, leadership opportunities and co-curricular participation, while gentleness has been evident in the way they care for one another, welcome new students and live out our call to know and love Christ.

A strong focus on student safety and wellbeing have underpinned all that we do. Wellbeing Week, Coffee Connect mornings, Playgroup sessions and the visit from Maxi - Mate at the Gate were highlights that reinforced the importance of connection and care. Our commitment to respectful relationships, inclusion and positive behaviour supports continue to foster a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.

Throughout Term One, students have been actively engaged beyond the classroom. Leadership Days and Camp for Stage 3, sporting events including swimming carnivals and cross country, gymnastics sessions and Harmony Day celebrations all contributed to well-rounded learning experiences.

Our faith life has been central, with beautiful celebrations including St Bridgid's Day, Ash Wednesday, Lenten Masses, Reconciliation, Youth Mass and Children’s Liturgies, culminating now in our preparation for Holy Week and Easter.

We are deeply grateful for the strong partnership between school and families. Events such as the Welcome BBQ for Kindergarten and new families, Parent Information Evening, Meet the Teacher and Open Day created opportunities for connection and shared purpose. A special highlight was the P&F Trivia Night, which was a wonderful evening of community spirit, fun and generosity. Thank you to the P&F and parents for their tireless work and to everyone who attended and supported this event.

As we move into Holy Week, culminating with the great celebrations of Easter, we are invited to pause, reflect and deepen our relationship with Christ. We are incredibly grateful for our strong and nurturing partnership with Father Colin and our parish community, whose ongoing presence, guidance and support enrich the faith life of our school. Together, school and parish walk side by side, supporting our students to grow in faith, hope and love. This sacred time reminds us of the values of compassion, service and community—values we strive to live each day as we seek to know and love Christ.

I thank our students for their enthusiasm and commitment to learning, our staff for their professionalism, care and dedication, and our families for the ongoing support and trust you place in our school. I wish everyone a prayerful Holy Week and a safe, restful Easter break.
