The first session of the 2025 Blue Edge program was a fantastic start to its fifth year at NBC!
This program, a true partnership between Corio Police, The Village, and our school, continues to thrive thanks to the generous sponsorship of goods, time from these organisations and dedication of NBC staff who volunteer their Friday mornings.
Huge shoutout to the 33 students who attended todays first session, hearing Year 12 student Tom Bugg share his Kokoda experience over breakfast with local police.
Special thanks to all staff and community volunteers involved, especially Stoofa, for their ongoing support in making this program such a success!
The SEED (Sport, Empowerment, Education, Development) program provides our students with enhanced skills and opportunities to have happy, active personal lives while at the same time achieving excellent academic outcomes in their school life.
The SEED program aims to provide all Northern Bay College Students with the opportunity to:
All Year 7 and 8 students participate in SEED, while staff and coaches maintain the high expectations of our College Values.

The Visual Arts team have had a great start to 2025, focusing on starting right and getting to know each other and the art room expectations. Each student P-6 took part in a monochromatic portrait lesson which will go together to create a beautiful collaborative artwork displayed on each campus, keep an eye out in the coming weeks for the “rainbow of possibilities” artwork. At Peacock campus this will be on display in the P-2 library.
The students at Wexford have made a great start to Visual Arts in 2025! We have been getting to know each other and learning about what each other like about the Arts. Students have created wonderful folio covers to keep their work safe and begun working on colour theory.
Our Year 7 and 8 students are showing everything they know about colour before a student led colour project next week.
IMPACT - Inspiring Musicians Performers and Artists to Create Together, is a follow on from our very exciting and well established Performing and Visual Arts Programs in our P-8 Campuses. Students in Year 7/8 have the opportunity to explore the ARTS further by joining IMPACT which takes place on a Wednesday with students from across our four campuses.
In week 4 we welcomed our semester 1 students who were very excited and a little apprehensive to be coming to Peacock campus to commence , for some of them, their first year of IMPACT. During these classes students will learn new skills that they have the opportunity to choose, and develop these, taught by industry professionals.
Students also received their new IMPACT polo tops, all ready for a fantastic semester of learning.
Year 10
Our Year 10's have had the privilege to work with three local Geelong musicians - Greg & Dean, Hannah and Trent to learn the drums, vocals and the guitar. Students have been working and learning different skills, learning what is involved to be in a band and getting ready for their performance Viva La Vida by Coldplay. In our next newsletter we will able to share with you the live recording our students will be making with the help of Oxygen College.
Now in our 13th year Northern Bay has once again received an outstanding response from students to participate in this years Victorian State School Spectacular. We have had great interest from students for the 2025 State School Spectacular, and would like to congratulate the following students who have made the choice to commit to this year’s event:
Our Term 1 program started of with great enthusiasm, with programs sitting at capacity. Students from year 3 - year 10 have signed up to join in one of our 27 programs on offer.
Programs from many different learning areas are included in the Extended School Day and is provided free of charge to our students, which is a most wonderful opportunity for all of our students. It is an opportunity for our students to learn new skills, mix with other students from other campuses and enjoy doing activities they love.
Some examples of our amazing programs on offer are:
Plus lost more! We are looking forward to a great five weeks of fun with our Extended School Day students.
