Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships

At Newtown Primary School, we are committed to nurturing the social and emotional wellbeing of all our students. That’s why our teachers are actively embedding the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) framework into weekly learning experiences from Prep to Year 6. This evidence-based program helps students develop essential life skills, including emotional awareness, problem-solving, empathy, and positive relationships.

Through engaging lessons and activities, our students are learning to build confidence, manage challenges, and treat others with kindness and respect. The RRRR framework covers key areas such as emotional literacy, personal strengths, stress management, and help-seeking, equipping students with strategies to navigate social situations and setbacks both in and out of the classroom.

In our junior grades, students explore emotions and friendships through storytelling, role-playing, and interactive discussions. Middle and senior students engage in deeper conversations about resilience, peer relationships, and respectful interactions, preparing them for the complexities of growing up in a diverse and inclusive society.

By fostering a positive school culture that prioritises wellbeing and respectful relationships, we are empowering every child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Parents and carers play a vital role in this journey, and we encourage you to ask your children about what they’re learning and continue these conversations at home.

Together, we are creating a community where all students feel safe, valued, and supported. If you would like more information about the RRRR framework and how it is implemented at Newtown Primary School, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.
