Principals Report

Welcome Back to 2025: A New Year of Opportunity and Achievement!

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

A warm welcome back to 2025! I am excited to share that I will be the relieving Principal for Term 1 this year. It’s been a busy start, with many school events already underway, and I’m thrilled to see the energy and enthusiasm our school community brings to the start of the year.

One of the important aspects of our school community is the way we present ourselves, and this year, we’re placing a strong emphasis on uniform and our new Behaviour Code of CARE. The Code sets out clear expectations for students to Co-operate, Achieve and demonstrate Respect every day. This will be a core focus of our school culture, and it’s important that every student meets these expectations every day.

For those students who previously used the School Pickup service and wish to re-engage with this service, please contact the school office to register interest as soon as possible to make arrangements.

It’s also a pleasure to celebrate some of our exceptional students from 2024! We were delighted to present the prestigious DUX award and Gold Medallion to Maisie Eastwood, as well as the Silver Medallion to Alexandra Wright and the Bronze Medallion to Charlotte McHarg. On the same day, we recognised students who achieved Band 6s in various courses. Their hard work and dedication to their studies are truly inspiring, and I congratulate them all. You can find full details and photos in this week’s newsletter.

Another highlight of the term so far has been the Swimming Carnival, which took place on February 11th. What an amazing day it was! The weather was fantastic, and the day ran smoothly thanks to the meticulous organization by Miss. Rossington, supported by our wonderful staff. A special congratulations to Sinclair House, our overall winners, and to all the students who excelled, particularly our age champions and carnival champions. A full report and more photos can be found in this week’s newsletter.

Many of our students and staff are also involved in the local show, which offers a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the links between our school and the community. I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all students, staff, and families who have contributed.

As we settle into the year, I’d like to remind all students to ensure they bring their laptops fully charged each day. We will be conducting a tech audit, and each year group will be notified about their laptops being checked and entered into the register for 2025. If you are experiencing any issues with your laptop, please report them as soon as possible so we can assist you.

Lastly, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new staff and parents. We’re so glad to have you join our school community and look forward to an exciting year ahead!

Here's to a fantastic term full of growth, achievement, and community spirit.

Best regards,Helen Millar
