SIMON CHAMBERLAIN (Year 1 Teacher)

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?

I am teaching Year 1 at BHCS this year. I am excited to see my students grow academically and spiritually, and become an uncle for the second time.

What did you do previously?

BHCS is the third school that I have taught at full-time. The past two years I have been at a government school teaching Year 2.

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy watching and playing sport, spending time with family and friends, and ministering in various capacities at my church. My favourite sport to watch is AFL, of which I am an Essendon fan. I coach and play men’s soccer, and also play tennis and cricket.

CLAIRE WAN (Secondary Teacher)

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?

My new role at BHCS is teaching Math and PE. I am also one of the Year 10 Homegroup teachers. I am excited to be part of this friendly community and to get to know the students in my class.

What did you do previously?

For the last few years, I have been teaching similar subjects at another school. I have also worked with Life Saving Victoria during the past few summers, teaching educational programs to primary-aged students at various beaches around Melbourne.

What do you like to do for fun?

For fun, I like to spend most of my time outdoors. I usually go running, but I also enjoy cycling (both road and MTB), snowboarding, and hiking.

TIMOTHY SUGUMAR (returning Year 4 Teacher)

What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?

My new role is teaching Year 4. I'm excited to reconnect with students I have taught in the past and reintegrate back into the BHCS community.

What did you do previously?

Previously, I taught at BHCS but took 12 months off to spend the year overseas, teaching and playing sport in England.

What do you like to do for fun?

In my spare time, I love to play cricket, watch the mighty Collingwood Magpies, and spend time drinking good coffee with my wonderful wife!
