NEW BEGINNINGS

THE FIRST FEW MOMENTS OF PREP

By Zayda Doidge (Prep Teacher)

Our Prep students began their first day with bright smiles and eager excitement. The morning was filled with warmth as they exchanged hugs and kisses with Mum and Dad before stepping into their new learning adventure. A story about starting school and a get-to-know-you game helped ease any first-day nerves while introducing new friends.

Throughout the day, students explored their classroom and the Prep playground, adding creativity to the experience by crafting their own 'First Day of Prep' crowns. When reflecting on their favourite moments, they shared their joy in making new friends, playing on the slide, and embracing every moment of their special day.

We are so proud of our Preps and can't wait to see all the wonderful things they will achieve this year!

YEAR 7S KICKSTART THEIR BHCS SECONDARY JOURNEY!

By Francis Best (Year 7 Co-ordinator)

Our newest Year 7 students (82 in total, 33 of whom are new to BHCS) launched their secondary school journey with an incredible first day of adventure and discovery! Under the beautiful sunshine, students spent time in their new classes, received their laptops and lockers, participated in an exciting scavenger hunt, and completed introduction activities that helped them explore their new school environment.

Smiles and excited chatter filled the school as students discovered shared interests, learned about their new community, and began forming friendships that will likely last throughout their secondary school years. The day was a beautiful blend of nervous anticipation and growing confidence, with each student finding their place in the BHCS family. The day perfectly captured the spirit of new beginnings—bright, hopeful, and brimming with excitement. Our students are clearly ready to embrace the incredible journey ahead at BHCS.

YEAR 12 FUN IN THE SUN

By Daniel Dema ( VCE Year Level Coordinator)

In VCE and VCE-VM, we are very proud of the hard work our students put into their studies. Because of the nature of Year 12, sometimes it might feel like all there is to it is just work. However, this is not the case. We want to make the Year 12 experience as fun and enjoyable as possible for our students. This is why we decided to start the year on a positive note—and what better way to celebrate the end of the summer holidays than by going to a theme park? So, on the very first day of school, before everyone else was back, we went to Gumbuya World with our Year 12 students.

The day was packed with fun activities, and our students had a wide variety of choices ranging from giant water slides to roller coasters, and even a visit to the wildlife park. Needless to say, we all thoroughly enjoyed the day and came back to school ready for a productive Year 12.
