Arts

It's been a great start to our second year of Yarrabing SC Visual Arts. We are well into the process of setting up a fully functioning ceramics department, a painting and drawing department, and are on our way to introducing digital art to our Year 7-8 art subjects.
The Year 7 cohort has been working through the basic elements of art, exploring line, shape, colour, tone, texture, and form. They are also learning about aerial perspective (or birds eye view), sketching, developing ideas for patterns using colour, line and shape, and creating an aerial view painting of a place that holds special meaning to them.
The Year 8 cohort have been creating ceramic vessels inspired by the Hermannsburg Potters and are currently in the process of glazing their work to transform it into a functional vessel or vase.
Art Club has begun and runs every Wednesday at lunchtime. Many students have attended Art Club to work on their assessment pieces or simply to enjoy some quiet time creating. Art Club will continue every Wednesday lunchtime in Term 2.
