Sprout Squad Uniform Recycling Drive

As Mount Alvernia College moves into 2025 with new sport and co-curricular uniforms, our Sprout Squad is partnering with BlockTexx to reuse our old uniform material for sustainable purposes. Bring your old uniforms (only those types pictured above) to the Carceri before school or in Break 1, 9-13 September 2024. This initiative is open to all members for the College Community including past students!

We will be conducting this activity at several points during the year including the end of this year. We are launching this project in our Cultural Festival Week when spirits are high. Our Sprout Squad have been working hard on this project all year. We are so proud of this initiative to reduce landfill and to provide easy opportunities to recycle. There will be opportunities for seniors to recycle their old uniform that are no longer required at our Evolution Day in November. Our College dress is definitely not changing! We know that a number of families have a dress or two with stains, rips and tears that cannot be passed on. Here’s an opportunity for that dress to receive a new life as a new garment.
