Wonderful 1/2

Term 4 Week 2 2024 -  Friday 18th October.

What have we been up to?

We hope everyone had a lovely break and we are so excited to be back for our last term of the year. The students have settled in beautifully and have got straight back into work this week.

This week we have continued looking at the structure of a narrative story and students will be writing their own narrative in week 4. We have been focusing on sequencing events in a story these past two weeks.

During Maths students have begun learning about Measurement. Week 1 looked at learning how to measure length using informal (blocks) and formal (rulers) measurement. Week 2 looked at measuring the mass of objects using language such as heavy, light, grams, kilograms and weight.

Students will now be participating in Wellbeing lessons with Mrs D and Culture with Mrs Bradley on a Thursday. This will alternate each week for each class.

Don’t forget that students need to wear hats everyday or they will need to sit in the shade at Lunch and Recess.

Students used unifix blocks to informally measure things around the classroom

What is coming up?

Reading

Students will be focusing on the structure of a narrative and use this to write their own in Week 4.

Writing

For writing, students will continue to have a focus on sentence structure and handwriting using the Write 2 Learn program. We will be continuing to focus on sentence expansion using a variety of conjunctions to create different compound sentences.

Maths

For Maths we will be looking at capacity in week 3 and moving onto probability and statistics in week 4.
