Rocket Launches

This is a reminder that on Thursday, 19 September, 2024, after school, from 3:20pm to 4:15 pm, I will set up the school oval for any Year 5 and 6 students who wish to demonstrate their bottle rockets to their families. All are welcome.

Year 5 Online Pen Pals

Congratulations to our Year 5 students for completing their pen pal letters, and thank you to the parents for reminding their children to meet the deadline. On Monday, the letters were dispatched to the Year 5 teachers at Longfellow Elementary School in Nebraska (USA) for deliver to their students. I received a message saying that replies are being worked on and will be sent over soon.

Reading through the letters before they were sent some of the things I discovered about our Year 5 students are...

1. They love their football, and if our American friends are unaware of the AFL, they will soon be introduced to it.
2. They seem to know a bit about American fast food and snacks and are interested in the perspective of their penpals.
3. Interested in knowing what sports and hobbies children have in the USA.

We look forward to discovering what the answers are.

STEM Blog

It has been great seeing students engage and contribute to the STEM Blog. I have enjoyed receiving from students suggestions on what to add and how to improve the site. This site also contains links to many of the apps/sites we use at school.
