Maria and Emma

Dear Families!

We are thrilled to share all the amazing activities that have been happening recently. Our ‘Rise and Shine’ mornings have been packed with delicious breakfasts and creative fun! The children have loved starting their day with egg and bacon, along with our all-time favourite - pancakes! The kitchen has been buzzing with excitement as we continue to explore new recipes and make some tasty treats together. We’ve also been moulding clay, making gooey slime, and expressing creativity in all sorts of imaginative ways.

In addition to the morning fun, our afternoons during ‘Stay and Play’ have been just as lively! The children have been discovering new recipes, baking cookies, bread, and delicious quesadillas. They’ve also challenged themselves with word searches, trivia games, and have shown off their talents during our talent shows and Just Dance sessions! Our budding artists have enjoyed watercolour painting, and it’s been wonderful to see their artistic talents flourish.

Our outdoor 'Super Sports' program continues to be a massive hit, with everyone enjoying active games like soccer, footy, group tag, and the term group game hit dodgeball. These activities not only help the children stay fit but also promote teamwork and friendships among the group.

I also wanted to take a moment to share some news that some of you may already know. After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to step down from my role as Coordinator at St John’s Heidelberg OSHClub. My last day will be Tuesday 17 September. Paul and Olivia will be working the remainder of that week. They have both  worked at St John's OSHClub before and know the service well.

This decision was not made lightly, being part of this community has been rewarding experiences of my career. I have cherished every moment spent with your amazing children—watching them grow, learn, and thrive has truly been a privilege. Each child’s unique personality and gifts have made my time here incredibly special.

Additionally, I would like to inform you that Emma will be transitioning to a casual role starting next term. She will still be working a couple of days a week, which will allow her the time she needs to focus on her university studies. This is a positive step for her as she balances work and school.

As I prepare to transition out of this role, please know that the care and development of your children remain our highest priority. We are working closely with the team to ensure a smooth handover, so that your children continue to receive the exceptional support and care they deserve.

I want to sincerely thank you for your trust, support, and for allowing me to be part of your children’s lives. It has been an honour to work with such wonderful families, and I will always cherish the memories we’ve created together.

As always please feel free to to get in touch if you have any questions.

Have a lovely weekend!
