Mrs Dominica Bearman
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we find ourselves at the end of another busy and exciting term of learning and teaching, I hope that you are looking forward to whatever you have planned for the vacation period to help you to rest and recharge ready for Term 4.
Last week, members of our leadership team at St Joseph's School attended the Clarity Suite Professional Learning Workshop, presented by Dr Lyn Sharratt from Canada. The two days allowed for us to collaborate, refine and identify next steps to support school improvement alongside Armidale Catholic Schools personnel and approximately seventy principals and teachers from our system of school. This Armidale Diocesan initiative revisits the work done with Dr Lyn Sharratt over the past eight years in our system of schools.
A new legislation in regards to employees' right to disconnect came into effect. The main focus of the legislation is to support employees' ability to disconnect from work demands during personal time.
From a school perspective, it is important to clarify this legislation also encompasses parents contacting staff after hours.
St Joseph's School is extremely fortunate to have a parent community who is committed to supporting both their child in their learning and our staff as professionals. Thank you for being committed to your child’s education, while also trusting our staff as professionals with the ability to disconnect during their personal time.
A friendly reminder that school fees are due 30th September 2024.
School fees are essential to the financial viability of our school. It would be appreciated if accounts are be paid in full by this date. If you are unable to pay your fees by this date, please contact the office and talk to Mrs White to discuss options.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Over the past weeks, we have been working closely with the Armidale Catholic Schools Office to tighten our approaches to student attendance. We ask that families continue encouraging their children to attend school daily. The impact of having days off is visible in the children’s learning outcomes and continues through their life choices in years to come. The following tables show the data on missing school.
