Dance
Over the past five weeks, our Year 9 students have been moving and grooving in the world of dance! As part of their dance curriculum, they’ve had the opportunity to plan, choreograph, and present a dance of their choice.
Through their creative process, they explored a range of dance styles, from contemporary to hip-hop, and honed their understanding of choreographic devices like canon, repetition, and unison.
The students worked diligently to design unique routines, incorporating these techniques to enhance their performances.
They embraced the challenge of working collaboratively, applying concepts like canon, where movements cascade in a ripple effect, and unison, where every dancer moves as one. Repetition added flair and consistency to their routines, while allowing them to refine their moves further.
We’ve witnessed some incredible moments of creativity and teamwork! From synchronized steps to spontaneous bursts of laughter when things didn’t quite go as planned.
The energy and enthusiasm from all the students were infectious, and we’re thrilled to see how far they’ve come. We couldn’t be more proud of the creativity, teamwork, and dedication they’ve shown throughout this journey.
Let’s keep the rhythm going—remember, life is better when you dance!
Keep dancing, Year 9! 💃🕺
Athletics – Division and Southern Metro Region
Congratulations to the Nossal Division Athletics team for their outstanding victory at the Casey North Division Athletics Carnival!
With a total of 966 points, Nossal soared ahead, beating second place Berwick College by 56.5 points, securing first place in a thrilling competition. The day was filled not only with incredible performances but also a sense of teamwork and community created by cheering louder than the other schools. Athletes gave their best in every event, while others helped by marshalling or volunteering at events.
In between their races and jumps, many students enjoyed playing casual games of volleyball and cheering on their friends, adding to the fun and relaxed atmosphere of the day. This camaraderie and support from everyone contributed to the overall success, making it a memorable experience for all involved.
Many records were broken, and many medals and ribbons were won.
Thank you to the staff, including Mr Christiansen, Ms Clarkson, Ms Ball and Mr Sterel and as well as the volunteers who helped make the day possible. Good luck to the 36 Nossalonians who will be heading to the Southern Metro Region Finals in October!
