News from PE

It has been a busy term in the Phys Ed program this term.

Last week, we had 60 students compete at the Ringwood North District Athletics carnival. We had some amazing results with six students going through to Division next term – May Hill (12/13 girls hurdles) Joshua K (12/13 boys shot put), Archie P (12/13boys triple Jump), Thian N (11 girls hurdles), Jessica L (11 girls 800m) and Samuel E (10 boys 800m).

Everyone on the team should be very proud of their achievements, the way they supported and encouraged each other and the terrific sportsmanship that they showed.

Some of the Year levels were lucky to have Cameron Leith from CL Tennis Coaching, come in and teach the children tennis. With his expertise, Cam had an engaging program where the children learnt and developed their tennis skills. There was massive improvement over the weeks. Cam has been coaching at GRPS on Monday lunchtimes for over 10 years. If you would like your child to be part of this program or be coached by Cam at East Ringwood tennis club, see flyer attached or contact the office.

The Year 1’s had a fantastic time with Bill from GKR Karate who came and taught the students some basic karate and self defence moves.

Thank you to all the parents who assisted with the Whole Swimming Program. We couldn’t do it without your help.
