School Holidays

School holidays – when school staff get to breathe … and parents start the count-down to the next term. That is a generalization of course. Holidays can certainly be fun, even working around parents work commitments. The weather also definitely affects what we can do. Sometimes its helpful to see what different organisations are offering.
This article features activities being run by Eastern Regional Libraries - Realm and Croydon. I trust that your break has a reasonable balance of rest and fun.
What: Mini Olympics Obstacle Course Challenge! Come along for some fun and challenge yourself, friends or family on Realm's Mini Olympics. You can make a medal to take home and celebrate getting your body moving!

What: Dungeons and Dragons for Teens. Come and play the world-famous tabletop role-playing game! Players go on adventures, work together to overcome obstacles, and fight monsters in epic battles. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience levels.

What: Harry Potter Drawing 101. Welcome to the magical world of drawing Harry Potter characters, objects, creatures or places. What: Masking Tape Art . Drawing inspiration from the current exhibition at Realm - Euphoria, we will transform a blank page with colorful paint and masking tape to create a piece of geometric art. You will also get the opportunity to meet the artist behind the Euphoria exhibition.

What: Mend it workshop. Do you have a garment that needs mending, and would like to learn how to mend? Come and join our mending circle to learn tips and tricks. Jodie from A Fitting Connection will prove that it only takes your willingness to learn a new skill.

What: Pet Rocks Rule! Create your very own pet rock, as we celebrate Active Kids, Healthy Minds Maroondah. Pet rocks can teach us a lot about responsibility, patience, the rewards of caring for something, and they can be a great tool for mindfulness, plus a great way to express creativity and have fun.

Second-hand uniforms: We are grateful for ongoing donations of uniform items to sell for just a gold coin each item [or whatever you have on hand]. Check out the stock on Tuesday mornings, and also at assembly every second Friday.
