Seeking Shoe boxes:
Have you been looking for an excuse to buy new shoes? Look no further! We are seeking shoeboxes! Later in the term, students will make a moving toy using a shoe box. Please send along any unwanted shoe boxes to school for this activity.
*Please note that we do not actually expect anyone to have to go and buy new shoes.
Hats:
Term 4 is a Sun Smart term, and the students are expected to wear their wide brimmed or legionnaire hats when outside. Students know that if they forget their hat, they are to play in designated shaded areas.

Curriculum Focus: Weeks 7-8
Reading: During this term we will be covering stage 7.4 of the Little Learners Love Literacy program. Next week, the focus will be the alternative graphene for /m/ - mb and /r/ - wr. During Week 8 we will be finishing the LLLL program with a focus on suffixes - dropping the ‘e’ before adding ‘ing’.
Writing: We will be continuing to work on our narrative stories titled “A Super Way to Travel”. Once completed, students will have the opportunity to publish them and share them with the class.
Numeracy: For the next two weeks we will be doing revision of place value concepts as well as strategies for the four operations.
Inquiry: Our topic this term is ‘What Makes Things Move?’ and have been exploring the different forces used to make things move. Over the next few weeks, the students will continue to make their own moving toys.
Willy Kids/Respectful Relationships: The Willy Kids focus is “Willy Kids are Leaders” where students will be discussing all the different ways we can demonstrate leadership in our everyday lives. The students will understand that leadership doesn’t mean being the person who is in charge. There are quiet leaders who show how to behave and treat people with actions such as kindness and respect. Leaders can help clean up without being asked and include others in games. In Respectful Relationships lessons, we will be focusing on ‘Help Seeking’ throughout Term 4. During weeks 6 and 7, the students will be learning about ways to ask for help. We will discuss the types of situations in which students
would be best to seek adult assistance. The students will also understand and learn the importance of finding the language to name problems when help-seeking.
