Celebrating Leadership, Growth and Community at St Peter’s College
As we near the end of another busy and rewarding school year, our community has much to celebrate. Over the past fortnight, our campus has witnessed moments of great pride, reflection and joy — from the farewell of our 2025 graduates to the development of our emerging leaders and the continued growth of programs that nurture the emotional wellbeing of our students. Each of these moments reflects the heart of our St Peter’s College community: faith, courage and service to others.
Year 12 Graduation Celebrations
There can be no doubt that last week’s Graduation Assembly brought immense pride and joy to our staff, students and parents. The 2025 graduates were outstanding in the way they conducted themselves in the days leading up to their final celebrations and throughout each event. Their gratitude, maturity and sense of community were evident at every stage — from the Graduation Mass and Assembly to the Valedictory Dinner.
The Piazza came alive with sheer joy as the graduates entered to cheers and applause from their peers, teachers and families. It was a moment that beautifully captured the spirit of connection that defines St Peter’s College. The pride on the faces of parents and staff reflected the shared journey of faith, growth and perseverance that has brought these young people to this milestone.
A sincere thank you is extended to our House Leaders, teachers and support staff who worked tirelessly to ensure every aspect of the graduation week was a success. Their care and attention to detail ensured that our graduates were honoured in a way that was both dignified and joy-filled.
Tomorrow Man & Tomorrow Woman Programs
Once again, our campus is proud to host the Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman incursions for our Year 10 students. These programs take a holistic approach to developing emotional intelligence and building authentic, meaningful relationships.
Through open discussion and guided reflection, students are encouraged to explore what it truly means to be a young man or woman in today’s world — expanding their emotional range, deepening their empathy and developing a personal roadmap for the kind of person they wish to become.
Last year’s feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with students expressing how impactful and transformative the experience was. We look forward to hearing the reflections of this year’s Year 10 cohort as they participate in their sessions later this week.
Announcing the 2026 House Captains
Following the election of our 2026 College Captains last term, this week brought further excitement as we announced the 2026 House Captains. Leadership development is central to our mission at St Peter’s College, inspired by the model of servant leadership exemplified by our patron, Saint Peter.
When students are given authentic leadership opportunities, they learn to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and lead with empathy and purpose. This year, we were thrilled by the exceptional number of nominations and the enthusiasm shown by all candidates. The speeches delivered were thoughtful and passionate, reflecting the deep sense of belonging and pride our students have for their Houses.
After an engaging election process and interviews with House Leaders and the 2025 House Captains, our new House Captains were announced to great applause. Congratulations to all students who nominated and presented speeches — it takes genuine courage to step forward and serve others in this way.
Our 2026 House Captains will be formally inducted at the final Campus Assembly in November, where we look forward to celebrating their commitment to lead with faith, integrity and compassion.
Join with me in congratulating the following students.
Together, these events highlight the vibrant spirit of our college— a community that celebrates achievement, nurtures growth, and inspires leadership in all its forms.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate these recent milestones, we also turn our attention to the busy weeks ahead. World Teachers’ Day on Friday 31 October will be an opportunity for us to express our gratitude to the dedicated staff who guide, inspire, and support our students each day. Our VCE Exams are now underway, and we keep our senior students in our thoughts and prayers as they demonstrate the knowledge and perseverance developed over their years of study. The VCE VM students are also finalising their major projects — the culmination of a year’s hard work and creativity.
A reminder to families that Monday 3 November is a student-free day, followed by the Cup Day public holiday on Tuesday 4 November. In the weeks that follow, our focus will shift to Year 10 and 11 exams and the excitement of the Year 9 Camp, as students continue to challenge themselves and grow through new experiences.
As always, we thank our St Peter’s College community for their ongoing support, faith and partnership as we guide our young people through this important and fulfilling final term.
