The St John's Community Fete is a highlight every year and this years Fete was no exception. The sun shone for us all day and welcomed the crowds across the various stalls, activities and rides. The 'Lob a Choc' Stall was a huge success and I am grateful for the many donated blocks of chocolate from our two school communities. Our school choir put on a magnificent performance, singing and dancing to some contemporary tunes. The face painting, rides, fairy floss and ice-creams were all very popular amongst our students and the toy stall and cakes were a great attraction for families. It was wonderful to see that Nicholas won the prize for the Year 2-4 colouring-in competition and the smiles on everyone faces added to the excitement and joy on the day.
I want to say a huge thankyou to all of the families who gave up their time on Friday for setting up, throughout the day on Saturday manning stalls, and on Saturday night and Sunday for packing up and cleaning up. It is incredible to see how the school is transformed for the fete but then is all left sparkling clean by Monday morning. Special thanks to Rohan Sutton who is our parent representative on the Fete Committee and for working over the last 4 days from setting up to cleaning up. We greatly appreciate all that you do and hope that you have inspired a new group of parents to join the Fete Committee next year.
Special Thanks to Michelle Plant for coordinating the Coffee Stall, the Dalton Family for cordinating the Bric a Brac stall, Emir Bajcic and Emily Boyd for coordinating the Toy Stall and Julie Taualii for coordinating the Snow Cones, Fairy Floss and the Popcorn Stalls. I appreciate you taking on these major roles and giving so much of your time.
Thanks also to my incredible staff for the time and energy that went into preparing for the fete and for coming along on Saturday to help run the 'Lob a Choc' Stall. Thanks to Amanda Hill for leading our Choir at the Fete too. They are a very talented group of students.

In line with all MACS Schools and supported by our School Advisory Council we will make a slight increase to our school fees for 2026. This will assist with the rising costs of running the school and maintaining up to date curriculum resources and technology.
For a breakdown of next years school fees please see the attached document.

You are all invited to attend the Parents Association AGM tomorrow night, 18 November, in the Staffroom at 7pm.
There will be drinks and nibblies to celebrate the successes and to thank everyone for their time and effort in attending, planning and preparing the many events and activities throughout the year.
I hope to see you there and don't forget to bring a friend too.
On Tuesday, 18 November, between 2.30pm and 3.20pm, our students who have been participating in Extension groups will be presenting their amazing work in our Extension Education Showcase. Everyone is welcome to come along.
Just a reminder to please sign-in at reception if you are attending.

A: A garbage truck!
