Principal's Message

Wominjeka from Justin Lania

Let's finish strong with the Wollert Way!

Dear Wollert PS Families,

As we reach the midway point of the term, I would like to thank everyone for their efforts. The teachers are putting in a tremendous amount of work for student reporting and assessment as we measure the growth of our learners and our teaching practice. Students have also been striving for excellent attendance, so please keep up the great work.

It’s important for students to attend school every day, especially during the last session, as this allows them to engage with our inquiry topics. On the Teaching and Learning page, we will provide updates on the work for each year level. Additionally, please be mindful when picking up students; it is challenging to allocate students in the playground when parents arrive during break times.

If you have appointments, we kindly ask that you avoid collecting students during the following times:

  • 11:10 am - 11:50 am
  • 1:50 pm - 2:20 pm

Class Placement for 2026

Thank you to the families who have completed the student friendship survey for 2026. The information you provide will help us place your child in their class for 2026. This survey is for students in Years 1 to 5 and will help us as we begin the process of creating classes. We will also consider any requests for student separations. If you need to communicate separations, please contact me, Justin Lania, at wollert.ps@education.vic.gov.au, including your child's name and their 2025 grade.

Transition Process- Step Up for Success as a Learner

We have included the following dates and initiatives to support our learners as they transition into the new year and new classes. We believe these programs will support our students' well-being and academic needs. Kiss and Drop Area- Important Community Information

This is a reminder that the Kiss and Drop parking area is designated for student pickup, and vehicles should not be left unattended before or after school hours. This will ensure that more families can effectively utilise the parking spaces.

Lastly, we will honour Remembrance Day on Tuesday, November 11, by conducting a service over the PA system to remember those who have served, suffered or died in all wars and peacekeeping operations. The annual observance also acknowledges the service of Australian Defence Force members on active deployment. Remembrance Day also marks the date in 1918 when World War I came to an end.

We will also acknowledge this significant event during our upcoming StoryTime assembly event on Thursday, 13th of November.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

Justin Lania
