Over the past few weeks, both our Junior and Senior students have been busy learning, creating, and contributing to our school community through engaging Home Group projects.
In the Junior School, students have been working on their “Small but Mighty” Legacy Projects which are school based initiatives designed to make a positive difference within their classrooms and year levels. These projects encourage students to think creatively and collaboratively about how they can improve their school environment.
Some of the ideas include:
Creating positive affirmation displays to brighten classrooms and boost wellbeing.
Designing student voice surveys to share with the Student Leadership Team about ways to improve school life.
Planning peer connection activities to strengthen relationships between Home Groups.
These small scale legacy projects allow students to take real ownership of their ideas while learning teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills. Their projects follow on from the larger Legacy Project pitches presented in Term 3, continuing the theme of making lasting, student-led change within the school.
Meanwhile, our Senior students have been engaging with the Respectful Relationships program, a Victorian Government initiative designed to build positive attitudes and behaviours that promote equality, inclusion, and respect for all. Through guided discussions and activities, students have explored topics such as recognising personal strengths, understanding emotional regulation, challenging gender stereotypes, and promoting healthy relationships. These sessions aim to empower students to contribute to a culture of respect both within and beyond the school gates.
Alongside this, seniors have also been participating in Study Skills workshops, focusing on organisation, time management, and effective learning strategies to support their academic success.
Together, both Junior and Senior students are demonstrating the importance of leadership, respect, and initiative, showing that leaving a legacy starts with small actions that make a big impact.
