French Service at the Shrine of Remembra

Mercredi 11 novembre, j’ai eu l’honneur d’accompagner Mme Pommier et quatre de nos élèves à une commémoration du 11 novembre, organisée par l’association des vétérans Français du Victoria au Sanctuaire du Souvenir au cœur de Melbourne. D’un ton très solennel, Emma L (3E), Aliyah B (4F), Mathias N (4G) et Noah V (3E) ont procédé à la lecture d’une lettre de « Poilu » devant une assemblée nombreuse et recueillie. D’autres écoles étaient présentes et des étudiants de Glen Eira College, Camberwell Primary School, Caulfield South, et Auburn High School déposèrent chacun une gerbe de fleur en honneur du sacrifice des anciens combattants qui ont servis les rangs de l’armée pendant la guerre.

On Wednesday 11 November, I had the honour of accompanying Mme Pommier and four of our students to a Remembrance Day service, organised by the Association of French Veterans of Victoria at the Shrine of Remembrance in the heart of Melbourne. In a very solemn tone, Emma L (3Rd), Aliyah B (4F), Mathias N (4G) and Noah V (3Rd) read a letter from "Poilu" in front of a large and collected assembly. Other schools were in attendance, and students from Glen Eira College, Camberwell Primary School, Caulfield South, and Auburn High School each laid a wreath in honour of the sacrifice of veterans who served in the army during the war.

Remembrance Day service at CJC

Melbourne weather not being our side last Tuesday, we had to make the decision to hold our Remembrance Day Ceremony indoors in honour of our soldiers who lost their life at War. Lest we Forget.
