Attendance

This term, we’re shining a spotlight on school attendance with a goal of reaching 95%. That means not just being present, but also arriving on time and ready to learn. Regular attendance is vital, it supports academic success, builds positive routines, and strengthens student wellbeing. A big shout-out to our Foundation classes, who have maintained an impressive 91% attendance over the last three weeks. Keep it up!

After tracking the attendance throughout this semester, we're excited to acknowledge the students who currently have 100% attendance in Semester Two!

PBIS - Hands to self

This week, our PBIS (Positive Behaviour Interventions & Supports) focus is on hands to self. Teachers will explicitly teach this routine and acknowledge students who use it correctly.

We continue to learn more about our classmates at St Therese's. At our recent assembly, we were fortunate to hear from Harper, Eleanor, and Ruby, sharing insights about themselves with our school community.

Fun Fact:	Outside of school, I love playing basketball.	Something I really enjoy outside of school is playing with my brother and sister.	Something I really enjoy outside of school is dancing. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old.
School Fact:	When I am at school, I love going to music. My favourite thing about music is listening to the songs.	One thing I really like about school is learning how to spell. My favourite word to spell is February!	One thing at school that I love learning about is Maths and Inquiry. This year I have enjoyed learning different strategies to use when solving math problems.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Social-Emotional Wellbeing Survey (SEW) - ACER

As part of our school’s ongoing commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for your child, the ACER SEW (Social Emotional Wellbeing) survey was conducted today.

The ACER SEW survey was developed by Professor Michael Bernard, in collaboration with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and explores 9 key aspects of students’ social and emotional wellbeing, divided across 3 key domains:

A) Feelings and Behaviours (i.e. levels of happiness, self-identity, behaviour and relationships)

B) Internal Strengths (i.e. self-awareness and self-management of social, emotional, learning and values)

C) External Strengths (i.e. the impact of positive influences at school, home and in the community.)

The survey is anonymous. The purpose of collecting data from the ACER SEW survey is to:

Identify a baseline data set to guide strategic direction for wellbeing initiatives in 2026 and beyond
Use evidence to support the wellbeing needs of students within our school
Measure the data for further supports and interventions

During the facilitation of the survey students were encouraged to take their time when answering the questions and will be asked to answer honestly so that we can obtain accurate feedback to continue to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students within our school. A follow up survey will take place in 2026.

Social Media Age Restrictions:

The Australian Government is protecting young Australians at a critical stage of their development, through world-first social media age restrictions taking effect on 10 December, 2025. From this date onwards, many social media platforms won’t be allowed to let Australians under 16 create or keep an account.
