Internal conflict is a struggle that happens within a character's mind or emotions that makes the character feel confliction. Examples are moral dilemma, self doubt, anxiety

 

External conflict is a struggle visible to others that takes place outside of a character's mind or emotions, that is acted out physically or verbally, for example, battling a villain, societal pressures. Discuss with your child examples of times that you and they have felt this.
