Ways to Wellbeing

Wellbeing Term 2 Wrap up

Term 2 was a HUGE term for Wellbeing!! This term Kristina ran two groups helping students to improve personal and social skills and we also had Troy from Uniting back in this term to run their highly praised ‘What’s Going On?’ program with Yr 9 and 10 students. Pete and Kristina ran Rock and Water with Yr 7 on Fridays and will continue this in Term 3.

One of our big events this term was Year 11 camp in Week 4. Year 11 had a great time connecting with their peers, pushing themselves to limits many of them didn’t know they had, and they got to hear from some external presenters about how to become more resilient and to help others going through tough times. It was great to see so many students get out of their comfort zone and to have fun over the three days!

In Term 3, the Wellbeing Space will look a little different with a few new faces. Kristina (SSO) is off on a holiday to Europe until Week 9, so we will have Izzy (Social Worker/SSO) replacing her. Mr Berrell will be off between Week 1-3, taking some time to look after his new born baby #3 and so Ms Hay will be stepping in as HT Wellbeing during that time. We also have Allana on a Tuesday and Thursday as our School Counsellor while Lauren (School Counsellor) is still on maternity leave for the rest of the year. Pete (Chaplain Mon/Tue/Fri) and Jen (School Counsellor Wed) remain unchanged! Students, please come down and say hello if you haven’t already. Parents, please feel free to get in touch if you have any wellbeing concerns for your child.

Later in Term 3 we have our Year 7 camp (Week 9 - September 16, 17, 18) and are super excited to get out of comfort zones, connect with peers and build personal skills. For parents of Year 7 students, please see the information on School Bytes to give permission for your child to attend and to pay fees. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms Hay (Relieving HT Wellbeing) or Ms Dargan/Mr O’Brien (Year Advisors). It will be a great experience for all students!!
