Miss Mel's Message
Principal - St Brigid's Primary School
Dear School Community,
I am pleased to be back after my long service leave and I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the seamless running of the school during my absence. It is truly wonderful to return and see the dedication and hard work of our staff and students. Thank you all for your continued support and commitment. It’s great to be back!
In the spirit of our Catholic faith, let us remember the words of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux:
May we continue to foster a loving and supportive environment for all.
We are thrilled to announce that our Prep enrolment tours have successfully concluded, and we are receiving an impressive number of enrollments for 2025. The feedback from prospective families has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the strength of our community, the quality of our learning environment, and the love, friendship, and happiness shared among our staff and students. It is heartwarming to see the connectedness that defines our school, making it a wonderful place for all.
Private tours are still available. Please call the office to make a booking.
We are delighted to share the wonderful impact Lulu, our wellbeing dog, has had on our school. Lulu’s presence brings joy and comfort to our students and staff, promoting a sense of calm and well-being. Additionally, the Lulu Ambassador Program and Lulu Club activities have been a tremendous success, fostering leadership, empathy, and responsibility among our students. It’s inspiring to see how Lulu enhances our school community in such meaningful ways.
We are excited to share a glimpse of our Resilience Project in action. Here, our students are meditating in nature on the decking with Miss Annie, practicing mindfulness. This initiative helps our children develop emotional strength, focus, and a sense of peace, equipping them with essential tools for their well-being and growth. See our Learning & Teaching Page for more from The Resilience Project.
Our teachers are engaged in a valuable initiative where they visit each other's classrooms weekly during our staff meeting to explore classroom layout, strategies, and the purpose behind display placements, seating arrangements, and the use of space. This collaborative effort fosters the creation of conducive learning environments and the sharing of our expertise. This week, we visited Junior BG, where Miss G graciously showed us around and shared her insights. These discussions are enriching our teaching practices and enhancing our students' learning experiences.
We are seeking families to share their culture and traditions with the school community during Term 3. Topics might include, traditional dress, games, food, sports, or possibly your migration stories. Please email mdaly@sbgisborne.catholic.edu.au and we will register your expression of interest and provide more information.
Mr Twinkle is looking for a loving new home. If you are interested in adopting Mr Twinkle, please get in touch with Gen at gserong@sbgisborne.catholic.edu.au
