Highlighting Inclusion: Disability Inclusion News!

Homestead Senior has focused on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students. We're excited to share some highlights from our recent initiatives designed to celebrate neurodiversity, build social connections, and empower our senior year students!

Celebrating Neurodiversity:

We hosted an open discussion on Neurodiversity during lunchtime events. This interactive session provided a safe space for students to learn more about neurodiverse conditions like dyslexia, ADHD, and autism. Students explored strategies for supporting their lives and education, and discussed ways to create a more inclusive school environment.

Building Friendships:

The Social Connections Club offered a welcoming space for students of all abilities to build friendships and participate in fun activities. The club meets every Thursday during lunch in G10.

Empowering Seniors:

We launched the "Surviving Senior School" podcast! Hosted by our students, this podcast aims to feature guest speakers, advice columns, and fun discussions to help navigate the challenges and celebrate the opportunities of senior year – in particular, executive functioning skills. The first episode will drop soon – be sure to catch future episodes!
