Responsible Pet Ownership Incursion
Foundation had a fabulous incursion today through the council, called the 'Responsible Pet Ownership Program'. We had Pam and a chocolate lab Clover visit our classrooms.
The students learnt all about reading the body language of a dog, how to greet a dog safely and how to behave when you feel scared of a dog!
We sang lots of songs and learnt some rhymes to assist us if we are ever caught off guard by a dog: 'Stop where you are, be quiet as a mouse, keep your hands down, look to the ground'
When greeting a dog: 'Ask to pat, hold out your hand for a sniff, pat down the back...'
