Student Engagement

RAISE Program

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our students who have graduated from the Raise Mentor Program for 2024. Your commitment to personal growth and learning is truly commendable. It has been a joy to watch you develop as young people over the year. The Raise program has offered invaluable opportunities for students to connect with mentors who provide guidance, support, and a listening ear in a classroom setting.

The Raise Mentor Program is designed to empower young people through positive mentorship. Throughout the term, students have engaged in a variety of enriching activities, including goal-setting workshops, team-building exercises, and discussions about academic and personal challenges. These experiences not only help students develop crucial life skills but also foster resilience and self-confidence.

The Gift of Goodbye: A Heartfelt Farewell

This week, we held a poignant session titled "The Gift of Goodbye," where students had the chance to bid farewell to their mentors. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and reflection as students shared their experiences and expressed gratitude for the guidance they received. Many students spoke about how Raise was one of their favourite parts of their week.

During this session, students read the cards they had written to their mentors, expressing the impact the relationship had on their lives. It was a beautiful way to look back on the relationships we have built over the term, including those students who have made friends with each other within Raise.

As we wrap up the 2024’s Raise Mentor Program, I would like to say a big thank you to all the mentors and mentees. It has been a privilege to work alongside you each week.

Year 10 Mentors

Our Year 10 Mentors have been fostering a sense of community among our younger students in the middle school. We are proud to highlight some of the significant achievements from Term 3.

One of the standout accomplishments has been the planning, organising, and running some sessions that were part of our Middle School Wellbeing Days for our Year 7, 8, and 9 students

Working closely with both staff and peers, our Year 10 mentors designed engaging activities that focused on social-emotional learning. These events were not only fun but also promoted a positive school culture.

The team-building exercises implemented during these Wellbeing Days have proven to be particularly beneficial. By participating in collaborative games and challenges, students built trust, improved communication skills, and strengthened relationships. These activities foster a sense of belonging and encourage students to work together, laying the foundation for a supportive school environment.

In addition to the Wellbeing Days, our Year 10 mentors have been actively involved in Year 7 positive classrooms, helping to cultivate supportive relationships with our year 7’s.

We have truly enjoyed having our Year 10 mentors take on these leadership roles. Their dedication and enthusiasm have made a lasting impact on our school community. We look forward to seeing their continued growth as they lead and inspire their peers.

Thank you to our Year 10 mentors for your hard work and commitment! We are also very excited for you to pass on the baton next term to the current Year 9 Students who are interested in stepping into a leadership role in the college.
