Year 12 Alumni Pathways

Written by Lekshya J (Acacia Alumni Captain)

Alumni are former students of an institution, and Keysborough College has a rich history, with thousands of alumni from both the current campuses and the founding schools: Springvale Secondary, Chandler Secondary, Heatherhill Secondary    and Coomoora Secondary. On the 17th of June, we hosted an alumni session that featured a group of diverse alumni who have pursued various careers and pathways.

  • Mischa: Mischa worked at H&M as a visual merchandiser and later became a teacher's aide at a primary school. Currently, Mischa is studying for a Certificate in Education Studies online, aiming for a Bachelor of Teaching, with an interest in becoming a speech therapist. On weekends, Mischa works as a support worker.
  • Nahoshi: Nahoshi is pursuing a Bachelor of Design and Business at Monash University, currently in her final year and is set to graduate soon. Nahoshi has completed internships in both design and business fields during the course.
  • Cassidy: Cassidy is in her second year of a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at Deakin University, aiming to become a psychologist. Cassidy has worked at MECCA for about a year, and works as a background actor and model in her spare time. Additionally, Cassidy has stage managed the Keysborough College Aladdin musical and helped with the Wakakirri Dance Showcase.
  • Vagelli: Vagelli has been accepted into the RMIT Associates Degree of Aviation (Professional Pilots) and holds a Private Pilot's License. Vagelli is working towards a Commercial Pilot's License and works part-time at Chemist Warehouse to fund course extras.

Our alumni provided a wealth of information and personal experiences, including:

  • Career Pathways: Each alumnus detailed their unique career journey, the decisions they made, and the challenges they overcame.
  • Industry Insights: They offered overviews of their respective industries, highlighting current trends and future opportunities.
  • Advice and Tips: Practical advice was shared on networking, continuous learning, and balancing work-life commitments.
  • Personal Stories: Alumni recounted personal stories of success, failure, and the lessons learned along the way.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our alumni for taking the time to join us and share their experiences. Your involvement was incredibly valuable to our current students, offering them a glimpse into possible futures and inspiring them to pursue their own paths with confidence and determination. Your stories and advice have undoubtedly made a lasting impact, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen the connections between our past and present students. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to the Keysborough College community.
