Week of Wellbeing

This week our whole school is celebrating WOW (Week of Wellbeing) there are a range of activities happening throughout the community all week. In addition to our activities students in 10-12 have been challenged to participate in the Put Your Phone Away Challenge (PYPAC) whereby we are challenging staff and students to spend less time on their phones by keeping their phones outside their bedrooms.

We are encouraging parents to support their child by signing up to be involved in PYPAC. If you would like to be involved you can sign up anonymously below.

Please find below  a great article about the impact of phones on adolescents sleeping patterns.

Mr Anderson this week relayed a conversation he had with a student on the topic of phones.

'I had a Year 9 boy tell me in class on Friday that he’d had “the best night’s sleep last night”. When asked why, he replied that he’d had his phone taken off him by his mother and, as a consequence, he had gone to bed really early. The result was that the next day he felt really good was really positive about the experience.'
