Hi everyone! I'm Jonny Hobbs and I am the Wellbeing and Inclusion Leading Teacher at MPRPS. I believe that school is a place where students should have the same opportunities to learn, play and be part of a connected community. I am passionate about ensuring equity of access for all students to take part in every aspect of school life.

I oversee the Multi-Tiered System of Support which supports the Wellbeing of all students at school. I support teachers with evidence-based strategies for support the needs of students in their classes and work with families if a student requires support access any aspect of school life, whether than be academic or social.

One of my biggest areas of responsibility is leading Disability Inclusion, a new Department initiative to ensure that classrooms are inclusive and students with additional needs are catered for across the school. We have been reviewing our systems and processes inline with this new initative. If you would like to discuss your child with regards to any aspect of school life, please contact me at the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Hello MPRPS Community, I'm Mel Nelson, and I am delighted to introduce myself as a member of our Wellbeing Team. Having been part of our school community for almost a year now, I can genuinely say I love being part of such a vibrant school community.

I am a qualified Creative Arts Therapist with a Master of Therapeutic Arts Practice. My work supports children and families through creative, playful, and trauma-informed approaches that use storytelling, creative materials, and expressionto help children make sense of their world, understand themselves, navigate relationships, and manage big feelings. I work with students individually, in small groups, with peers, and within classrooms, supporting all brain types through a neuro-affirming and strengths-based lens.

I am passionate about early intervention and helping children recognise their unique strengths, understand their fluctuating capacities, develop new skills, and feel a sense of safety, connection, and belonging within their school community so they can engage in learning and thrive.

If you have any questions and would like a chat, please let Jonny know. For more info on how Creative Arts Therapy can support your child, please see FAQ download...

Hi everyone, My name is Kate Molloy, and some of you may already know me from my previous roles at Mount Pleasant Road. This year I’m excited to be working as the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader (MHWL) on Tuesdays & Wednesday.

The MHWL role has lots of moving parts as you can see from the jigsaw, but my aim is to build on our school’s strong approach to wellbeing while continuing to refine and sustain this work. I support staff to identify and respond to student mental health needs, strengthen referral pathways within the school and to external services, and promote student voice and agency. You can learn more about the MHWL role here.

A key focus of my work is our whole school (Tier 1) approach to wellbeing, including the Zones of Regulation, Respectful Relationships, and consistent routines. All the things that support students to manage emotions, build relationships, and maintain wellbeing.

If you have any questions or would like to connect, please feel free to reach out.
