The Little Mermaid a tremendous success!

Last week, after months and months of rehearsing, costume making, and set designing the Secondary production of The Little Mermaid was able to be enjoyed by an audience of over 1300 people across four colourful, energetic and outstanding shows.

The musical was a wonderful example of our NCS community in action, with parents, students and staff all pitching in to see it come to life. If you are a parent or carer of a child who was a member of the cast or crew, you will already be well aware of the incredible commitment of time and energy that these young people put into the successful presentation of this event. They, along with staff have worked tirelessly as members of the team, dedicated to presenting such a memorable performance. They have been willing to use their gifts and talents, whether this be in the areas of acting, dancing, musical expertise, set design, stage crew or sound and lighting, in order to ensure such a polished and professional looking performance.

Congratulations to all involved! It was amazing!!

Special thanks to Mrs Ellery, Mrs Edwards, Mr Clarke, Mr Drury, Mrs Rebel, Mrs Stewart, Mr Harrison, Mrs Thomas and Mr McKenzie for all your work in pulling the different aspects of the show together. We are also very grateful to all the members of the orchestra, especially those from our wider community who gave up their time to be part of the show. We are extremely grateful to all the parents, carers and other community members who were also involved, particularly in costumes and set making.

A Day at the CSSA Secondary 16&U Boys Football Trials

Jarrod (Year 10) and Talis (Year 7) participated in the CSSA Secondary 16&U Boys Football Trials on Monday 4 March. The purpose of these trials was to select a 16&U Boys team to compete at the CIS Secondary Football Championship later this year.

Jarrod reflects on his trial experience: The day started with a reluctant 4am start. After the 3 hour car ride to Parramatta we made it to the field. It was the average Sydney pitch. It was a dark green synthetic grass field that I was not happy about as if you fell on it, it would tear your skin to shreds. We were all split into 4 teams. We got to know each other for a short amount of time then we got straight into the first game. I started as a striker and I played well passing with teammates quickly which resulted in an early goal. Towards the end of the half, I played a one-two without winger which got me one-on-one with the keeper, I slotted it calmly into the bottom corner off my left foot. The game finished 3-0. In the next game I played centre attacking mid and scored twice. The last game I played right back and injured myself. Unfortunately I didn't make the team but it was still all round a fun day. Jarrod M (Year 10)

Secondary Students Spring into Action

During Term 1 our Secondary students have been attending South Coast Cheer Academy as part of their Sport & Rec program. They have been making the most of the facilities including a sprung floor, multiple air tracks, and mini trampolines. The students have been refining their tumbling and cheerleading skills, embracing the opportunity to develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
