Digital Safety and Wellbeing Workshop for Parents and Carers
Tuesday 23 April 7:00pm
In Week 2 of Term 2, Steve and Bec from Evolve Education will conduct a Digital Safety and Wellbeing workshop for parents and carers. We strongly encourage at least one parent or carer from each family to attend this session. As parents, we cannot keep up with the new challenges that our children are facing online however we can be informed. The workshops will cover the following topics:
- Modelling safe and healthy practices at home
- Participating in your child/young person’s online world
- Communicating strategies to encourage help seeking
- Supervising and supporting to minimise harm
Staff Professional Learning
Teacher Excellence Program
Last Friday Carlye and Billy attended another day of professional learning on Literacy through the Teacher Excellence Program at the Academy of Teaching and Leadership. James attended a day of professional learning on Numeracy on Monday through the same program.
Disability Inclusion
Disability Inclusion is part of the Government's approach to inclusive education. It provides extra support for students with disability in Victorian Government schools. The Disability Inclusion Profile and surrounding process helps schools and families identify the strengths, functional needs, and educational adjustments schools make to assist students with disability and additional learning needs. Disability Inclusion started in Term 4, 2021, and is being introduced over 5 years. Carlton North is in the 2024 rollout and Jane is busy learning and attending many professional learning sessions. This professional learning will assist Jane to support our teachers to develop Disability Inclusion Profiles for students with additional needs at CNPS. This new funding model takes time as it requires a huge amount of work for the teacher to record the reasonable adjustments they are making for each student who meets the criteria for this profile.
