Happy St Patrick's Feast Day

on 17th March !

St. Patrick was a Christian missionary who used a clover (or shamrock) to explain the Holy Trinity of Christianity, which is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Sunday Gospel Reading

John 12:20-33

Jesus teaches his disciples about the way in which he will be glorified by God, and a voice from heaven is heard to affirm this teaching.

As Christians, we are called to think about the needs of others. In today’s Gospel, Jesus talks about the great sacrifice he will make for all of us. He invites us to think of others before ourselves.

Jesus knew that he was going to die. But he did not pray for God to save him from death. He knew that God had sent him to save us from sin. Jesus put the needs of the world before his own life. He was willing to die to save us from our sins and offer us eternal life in heaven with God the Father.

“What’s in it for me?” is the wrong question for followers of Jesus. Jesus certainly didn't ask this question as he journeyed to the cross.

Jesus calls us to serve others by putting their needs before our own. That means that we think about what others might need and help them, even when it may not be what we want to do. We show our love for Jesus and thank him for his great sacrifice for us by caring for one another.

We are approaching the end of Lent. What might you do between now and Easter to show your willingness to follow Jesus in this way?

Our Lenten Appeal

Jesus calls us to serve others by putting their needs before our own. That means that we think about what others might need and help them, even when it may not be what we want to do.

Please remember to give your child the opportunity of doing chores at home to earn their non-perishable food items for Vinnies

To those families celebrating Ramadan

Wishing you a Ramadan filled with peace, happiness, and prosperity. Ramadan Kareem! May Allah's blessings be with you and your loved ones always.

Lent and Ramadan are not only seasons of repentance but are also times of remembrance, something that means more than paying casual attention to past events. It is a time of heightened spirituality and purification.

A Prayer for our Reconciliation Candidates

Loving God help us to teach our children that you love us totally and unconditionally. Help us to encourage our children to grow in love and to learn how to say sorry, knowing that you always forgive. Give us the courage to pray with our children and to share our faith with them as we journey together. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Sacrament of  Confirmation, 2024

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The students in Year Six are to continue their sacramental  journey and begin their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in Term 4.

The Sacrament of Confirmation enables the faithful to be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, strengthening them in their Christian life. Confirmation fills us with the Holy Spirit so that we bear witness to Him before the world and work to bring the Body of Christ to its fullness.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is usually celebrated within Mass because this most fully demonstrates that Confirmation completes the initiation of the candidate into our Eucharistic Community.

The first part of this preparation begins with  a  Parent Information Session on:

Tuesday,  26th March, from 6-7 pm in the Parish Hall.

Students will be expected to be present at this session along with parents.

This information session is mandatory  to enable you to support your child’s faith development.

Please note other important dates:

  1. The Presentation Mass for Confirmation Candidates is on 9am Sunday 19 May at St Peter’s Church.
  2. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be received on Sunday 17th November at 9:00 a.m. Mass.
