Camp

The year 4's were lucky enough to go on camp this term and what an amazing experience it was. We travelled down to Anglesea very early on Monday morning and arrived at camp in good time. Our cabins were great with lots of space to run around in and the beds were really comfortable. The camp had a big oval to play games and sports on. We had so much fun!

Food

The food was delicious, especially the mouth-watering chocolate fudge cakes. For lunch we had fresh salad rolls which were a bite out of heaven. After a day of fun activities we were all very hungry for dinner. Smelling the dinner of fish and chips made us drool. For dessert we had ice cream sundaes which were yummy. It was hard to decide between chocolate or strawberry topping so some of us had both!

Surfing

One of the activities we did was surfing. The sun was shining and the waves were crashing down at Anglesea Main Beach. It was nearly perfect weather and conditions for hitting the waves, especially after a long  two kilometre trudge down from camp to the beach. We met our instructors, put on our wet suits and hit the beach. First we had our lesson where we went through the method of how to catch a wave and the technique we could use to stand up on the board. After some practise on the beach for 20 minutes we hit the water.  The waves were a perfect size for us beginners and we spent the next 90 minutes paddling out and surfing in, enjoying every moment. Nothing beat the thrill of finally getting onto a wave and standing up and surfing into the shore. We all had a gnarly time and made many great memories. Although the long walk back to camp after surfing was far from enjoyable, but the teachers saved the day by miraculously attaining lollies from their backpack which gave us the drive and energy to climb the last massive hill back up to Camp.

Canoeing

Another activity we tried out was canoeing. The river in Anglesea is a perfect spot for a paddle and the water was lovely and calm. The weather was very warm and we all got so hot we had a fun splash at the end of our hard work. We saw lots of beautiful birds, some fish in the water and other boats too.

Splash! My oar dug through the water, pushing us off the river bank. Canoeing was so fun and exciting! We raced, paddled, and splashed. We all got stuck in bridges and river banks but managed to use or growth-mindset and find our way out. We will remember canoeing, and the cutest little dog that came with us, forever!

Bike Riding

We also got to go mountain bike riding and it was an amazing experience to do with the whole class, we rode down some dirt hills, passed some rivers and even had a few scrapes and falls! Nevertheless, we had so much fun biking through the beautiful track in Anglesea. It was a scorching hot couple of days and biking through the shady trees was the perfect way to end our camp.

Thank you very much to all of the teachers and parents who helped make our camp experience one we will never forget.
