STAFFING NEWS

Last week Nóirín Bhrolcháin joined our staff.  Nóirín (pronounced Noreen) will be working in the senior community until the end of term two.  Having three teachers in the level will enable us to have smaller, more targeted learning groups - Nóirín will plan with Brittany and Aoife and will work as a part of the senior teaching team.

This week we also welcome Lynette Peters to our staff.  Lynette is joining our team of Education Support Officers.  Lynette joined our school community this year from St John's in Clifton Hill, and has Stella in grade six.

We welcome both Nóirín and Lynette to our staff!!

FAMILY PICNIC AND FRIDAY TWILIGHT MARKET

Please join us for our FAMILY PICNIC,  and first Friday Market for 2024 - this Friday commencing at 5:30pm.

Our Middle students are hosting our Friday Market this term and will be a great opportunity to purchase some delectable treats.  We will also be having a sausage sizzle, and our choir will entertain us with some fabulous songs.

Come along with your picnic rug and picnic dinner for what will undoubtedly be a fun and entertaining evening.

SENIOR'S CAMP

This week our seniors have headed off to Portsea Camp for a two night/three day beach camp experience.  By all accounts, they are all having a wonderful time - with some brave students joining Miss Kate's 'Boot Camp' session at 7am this morning.  Be sure to check out our photo wall in the undercroft!!

'SOFT STARTS'

This term we introduced a 'soft start' where children have the option of moving straight into their classrooms at 8:35am, or playing in the school-yard until the bell rings at 8:45am. This means that teachers are typically in their classrooms from 8:35am, however this time is often used for preparation where the teacher may be setting up for the day.  If your child is choosing the 'soft start' option at 8:35am, please drop them off at the building entrance doors instead of accompanying them to the classroom.   If there is something urgent that you need to discuss with the teacher please give them a call to make a time for a chat, or catch them in the yard after school.  Your assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

COLOUR RUN

What a grand success our Colour Run afternoon was!!  I want to send out a HUGE thank you to Kate Lynn, Rachael McGuire, Steph Spence and Olivia Triandos for organising the event.  Their meticulous planning and coordination of the day ensured that everything went smoothly and the afternoon was enjoyed by all.

Currently we have raised $5778.00!!!  The donation page is still open and donations are open until the last day of this term - scan the QR code to go to our donation page.  One of our incentives was to have a casual dress day - once we reached the $5000 mark.  We are planning to reward the children with this on Wednesday March 27 - the same day as our Easter Hat Parade.

EASTER CELEBRATIONS /LAST DAY OF TERM

Next Thursday, March 28 is our last day of term and we will be holding our Easter Celebration in the school yard commencing at 9:00am.  More information about this celebration will be sent home to families closer to the date.  Children may wear casual clothes on the last day of term.

RIDE TO SCHOOL DAY

This Friday 22 March is National Ride2School Day - a time to celebrate kids being active on their way to school.  We encourage everyone to cycle or scoot to school to enable more students to get physically active on their journey to school.
