IGNITE

Industrial Revolution Exhibit

The two year 9 IGNITE HASS classes completed their Industrial Revolution unit of work by producing a model, PowerPoint or digital presentation of an important invention that changed history.  The classes then ran an Exhibition for students and teachers to come and ask questions and demonstrate their knowledge.

It was an incredibly successful event that all students enjoyed whether they were presenting their work or discussing it with students who came to view their work.

Life on Earth Exhibit

On Thursday 4 April, our Year 7 IGNITE students held a Life on Earth Expo.

Students needed to develop their own city using an integrated model for Maths, Science, HASS and English.

Students needed to take into account, the kinds of crops grown in their city due to the climate which arose from its geographic location, the kinds of lifestyle available and planning needed based on average temperatures, the kinds of people who lived in the city, their characteristics and how they contributed to the systems in the city.

A constant stream of parents visited the expo, eager to see what their children had been spending their time on in the first term of Year 7. Both parents and teachers were impressed by the student’s knowledgeable justifications of the city they had imagined.
