SACE Music

Towards the end of Term 1, some of our students were involved in a music performance recording for the year SACE music Assessment Task 1 (AT1).

For this assessment students explore and apply their musical understanding, skills, and techniques to develop, refine, and present their musical works.

A performance may be as a soloist, as a member of an ensemble, or as an accompanist. Students can perform using instruments including technology and found sounds and/or voice. The creative works may be in a variety of styles.

In term 2 there are two major music performance:

Middle school band night, Tuesday 21st May

  • This is the first performance for the year 7 music students and a chance for students to show off their newly required music skills to families/friends, these students have been playing instruments for 10 short weeks.

Ensemble night, Wednesday 3rd July

  • This is for all five of the Aberfoyle Park High School extra curricula ensembles and will be presented to families and friends.

SACE Stage 1 + Year 10 Drama presents TEEN

On Wednesday 10 April, the Stage 1 SACE and Year 10 Drama class presented their production of TEEN by Kristen Doherty.

TEEN examines social and emotional issues faced by contemporary teenagers through a selection of short scenes and monologues written within the genre of Epic Theatre. Issues such as bullying, body image, peer group pressure, jealousy, love, anxiety, friendship struggles, sexuality, relationships with parents, sexting and the loss of a parent are explored.

Their production company “Teenage Dirtbags” explored these sometimes-difficult issues and conversations over nine weeks and countless hours of rehearsal to receptive audiences.

Congratulations to all students!
