Harmony Week Update

We are delighted to share the resounding success of our Harmony Day celebration held on Thursday 21 March. It was heart-warming to see so many students enthusiastically participating in the activities, embracing the spirit of cultural diversity and inclusivity.

Face Painting: Students had the opportunity to express their cultural pride through vibrant face painting designs featuring flags from various countries. The colourful array of flags painted on smiling faces truly showcased the rich diversity within our school community.

Activities included:

  • Temporary Tattoos: Another highlight of the day was the temporary tattoos station, where students adorned themselves with symbols of diversity and unity, set against the backdrop of whimsical unicorns. It was a wonderful way for students to showcase their cultural identities in a fun and creative manner.
  • Harmony Day Bracelet Making: Students also engaged in bracelet making, using colourful beads to symbolize unity and inclusiveness. The bracelets served as tangible reminders of our commitment to fostering harmony among diverse cultures, and many students proudly wore them throughout the day.
  • Giveaways: To commemorate the occasion and promote cultural diversity, Harmony Day-themed giveaways were distributed among the students. These tokens served as reminders of the importance of celebrating our differences and embracing cultural diversity.

We were grateful to have fruit donated for the student by John Peresano from The Hub Fruit Bowl. His generosity was greatly appreciated.

  • Ribbon Activity: The ribbon activity proved to be a thought-provoking experience, as students wrote keywords representing unity on orange ribbons. These ribbons were proudly displayed, serving as visual reminders of our collective commitment to promoting harmony among diverse cultures.
  • Garden Games: In addition to the indoor activities, students also enjoyed fun and interactive garden games with their classmates and friends. The relaxed atmosphere provided the perfect setting for celebrating diversity and forging new friendships across cultural boundaries.

Overall, the Harmony Day celebration was a tremendous success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our students and the dedication of our SRC in planning the event. It was truly inspiring to witness the spirit of unity and inclusiveness that permeated throughout the day.

Let us continue to celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity, and embrace the values of harmony in our school community.
