Student Wellbeing

Alan Peat - Wellbeing Leader

Boxing Brothers

Last term we had 12 students participate in a boxing program run by Chris and his brother Michael from Boxing Brothers. Coaches Chris and Michael provided free online sessions through their online coaching that students could do at their own pace.

They also came down in alternate weeks through face-to-face coaching with Mr. Peat, Matt Peters, Nigel Lockyer and Phoebe Cole all helping out over the term. Students not only improved their fitness and health through the fitness sessions. They also improved their boxing techniques, movements and discipline.

The sessions were quick paced and action packed especially the boxing components and foot work. All students put in 100% effort learning valuable skills around, resilience, self-control and pushing themselves to become physically fit.

It was great to see so many engaged students committing to the sessions. All the students gave positive feedback about the program and Jayden said the following, “The boxing program was one of the most enjoyable things I have done at high school so far. It was physically challenging and I learnt a lot about boxing and movements involved”

Overall, we all thought that this new program had been fun and that we hope that we can continue the collaboration with the Boxing Brothers later this year.

Health & Wellbeing Expo

Earlier this month the SACE Stage 1 & 2 Health & Well-Being class and leaders ran a Health & Wellbeing Expo to address important issues raised by our middle school students.

With 15 diverse stalls, each focusing on different aspects of health and well-being, The Expo provided a comprehensive platform for students to learn, engage, and discuss their concerns.

Thank you to Headspace Onkaparinga, Seeds Church, Base10 and Onkaparinga Youth for coming along and supporting the event along with our SACE students and Wellbeing teachers who created the Expo.
