JUNIOR LAWN BOWLS

On Tuesday 7 May we attended the SSV Lawn Bowls State Championships in Sunbury.

We had successfully beaten Sandringham and had scared off Albert Park to progress to the last six teams in the State.

In the finals we ended up winning one game against Sebastopol and losing another to Kyabram. We were super excited to get into the Semi Finals.

Overall, it was a big team effort and an enjoyable day. It was a great experience, and we are really glad to have had the opportunity to go to State. Most of our competitors play community lawn bowls so it was a much more professional environment compared to what we were used to.

Despite this challenge we were the last four teams left in the State after beating Phoenix but fell to Maribyrnong afterwards. We were sad that Isla Walsh wasn't able to join us in Sunbury.

Thank you to Mrs Hooper for organizing the Kingston Bowls, coaching and happily driving us to our venues.

ROCK UP NETBALL

Refereeing and or playing in the Rock Up Netball at lunch times is a great way to get involved in school activities and to meet new people with a similar interest as you. This is perfect for people interested in playing a team sport and for raising the McKinnon spirit.

Rock Up Netball is also a great way to interact and build friendships with other classmates. I highly recommend this activity to anyone looking for some lunchtime fun!  This program is run by Mr Farthing and Mr Jhoomun and they do a great job at making sure everything goes smoothly.

Overall, I believe that this is something that everyone can enjoy and take part in.
