A very happy Easter to all College families. Yesterday’s Easter Service was a wonderfully reflective and celebratory way to conclude the term, with students looking the part and in full voice. This concluded what has been a hugely busy and productive term. In addition to the raft of extra-curricular activities that have been wedged into a short nine weeks, I have been pleased on the whole with the focus on students in class, and with their work ethic and application outside of it.

One of our new Year 7 students, Grace Haldane, read the below passage as part of a Prayer for New Life at the Easter Service. It encapsulates the Easter message well. I particularly like the idea of approaching our work and pursuits by being “humble, yet glorious”.

Lord Jesus Christ, when we look into

The empty tomb, we are often afraid

And want to run away; search our

Hearts and assure us that You live

Among us in our humanity – humble

Yet glorious, full of grace and truth.

I hope that the coming holiday break is, in the spirit of the season, a chance for rest and renewal, and I look forward to welcoming students back on Monday 15 April.
