Performing Arts

IN THE CLASSROOM

Students in foundation and year 1 have been practicing how to use their bodies to the full in dance. Students have been practicing how to dance with big, dynamic moves and bright energetic facial expressions. Students in year 2 are continuing with their dance diaries, observing how dances are formed in daily lives. They are also creating their own dance choreography for the song "Peaches" from The Mario Movie. Year 3/4 students are honing in on the dramatic element of voice and language. Through multiple drama games and activities, students are practicing how to use their voice and language to portray various characters. The year 5/6 students have learnt the four basic chords on the ukulele (C, G, F and Am). They are now moving on to using these chords to accompany songs, focusing on transitioning smoothly between chords and playing in time with the rhythm.
