Prep

It's been an exceptional start to the year for Prep V! As we've settled into our school routine, our eager learners have wasted no time in forging new friendships and immersing themselves in exciting learning adventures. 

In Literacy, we've been delving into the fascinating world of our alphabet sounds and their correct formation. Through interactive, engaging activities and the use of Jolly Phonics, our students have been refining their reading and writing skills by mastering 3 and 4 letter words with enthusiasm. They are progressing to constructing short, decodable sentences, focusing on fundamental rules such as beginning with a capital letter and ending with a full stop.

Our exploration of the letters 'm' and 'n' was nothing short of delightful! We embarked on creative endeavours, crafting monkey masks and noodle necklaces adorned with patterns, which complemented our mathematical learnings seamlessly.

In Numeracy, we've been on a journey discovering diverse methods to represent numbers. From using unifix, counters, and even our own fingers to tally marks, dominoes, and ten frames, our students have embraced a multitude of tools to grasp numerical concepts. Additionally, we've delved into the world of patterns, exploring their creation and continuation through the lens of 2D shapes.

It has been exciting to see the growth and achievements that Prep V has achieved in such a short time.
