This term, Year 5 and Year 6 have been learning about public speaking in preparation for the Public Speaking Competition that will be taking place next term. Public speaking is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn how to communicate their ideas through informing, entertaining or persuading the audience about a particular topic.
Students have been learning about what public speaking is and the importance of the 3M’s:
Manner: students explore the importance of voice projection, stance, expression and gestures.
Matter: students focus on writing a speech that is interesting, has a clear purpose and is engaging.
Method: students focus on creating a speech that is easy to understand, makes sense and has a good flow.
Students in Kinder to Year 4 have thoroughly enjoyed their swimming lessons at Des Renford this week. Instructors guided students with improving their water safety knowledge as well as their swimming skills and strokes.
Students are excited and looking forward to the Swimming Carnival next Thursday 3 April.
Warm regards,
Fenna Di Maggio
