Secondary Art Update

Our Secondary Art students have had a busy and creative term learning new skills and producing meaningful artworks.

Our Year 7-8 Sculpture students created clay pinch pots and used the Sgraffito carving technique to design symbols that represent their identity. They have also explored 3D forms through fun paper mâché projects.

In Drawing, students in Years 7, 8, and 9 practiced traditional drawing methods. They worked on a project that challenged them to draw their sneaker realistically, followed by their school bag. This project encouraged them to reflect on what they bring to school each day—both seen and unseen.

Our Year 9 Visual Art (Major) students designed abstract 'coats of arms' with sections representing their personal identities. They explored various mediums, including coloured pencil, Texta, oil pastel, and acrylic paint, while learning new techniques and artistic conventions.

It has been a wonderful and creative start to the school year, and we are proud of what our students have achieved so far.
