Dear Sacred Heart Families,

As we approach the end of our first term, it is a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate all that we have achieved together over the past ten weeks. The holidays offer us a well-deserved opportunity to rest and recharge, but they also invite us to look back on the journey we have taken as a school community.

This term has been filled with moments of growth, learning, and new beginnings. We have reconnected with familiar faces—our staff, students, and parents—and have also embraced the new relationships formed with classmates, teachers, new staff members, and families who have joined us. At Sacred Heart, we take great pride in being a welcoming and inclusive community, a legacy instilled in us by the Josephite Sisters who taught here before us, following the example of Mary MacKillop. Mary MacKillop knew the importance of inclusiveness, kindness, and love, and she showed us that every person in our community is valued and worthy of care. It is a spirit we continue to uphold today.

During my time in the yard this week, I had the joy of chatting with students about their highlights of this term. Their excitement, enthusiasm, and reflections were a reminder of the wonderful experiences we have shared:

"Having our buddies at school." ~Kyus B

"Practising how to spell words and then we are tested on them." ~ Lily E

"Playing sport with my friends." Tom R

"Seeing my brother receive his Mary MacKillop badge." Alexander H

"Getting into district Cross Country." Emily R

"I loved writing stories." Alex S

"Making feelings monsters in SEL with Bre." Chloe B

Moments from Term 1 – learning, growing, and celebrating together!

As we journey through Lent towards Easter Sunday, we are reminded of the significance of this season—a time of reflection, renewal, and hope. We also keep our principal, Kaylene, in our thoughts and prayers as she nears the end of her pilgrimage, walking in the footsteps of St. Paul. We wish her all the best as she completes this incredible journey and safe travels home.

Just as Kaylene is on a journey, so too are we as a faith community. As we continue to prepare for Easter, may this time be one of growth and renewal for us all.   On behalf of the staff, we wish our families a wonderful Easter Sunday, filled with love and warmth.

A huge thank you to our wonderful families and friends for your generous donations towards our Easter raffle! Each year, the prizes grow bigger, and the excitement on our students’ faces when they win is truly priceless. This raffle wouldn’t be possible without your kindness—whether through donating eggs or purchasing tickets. Your support helps make this special tradition such a joyful experience for our school community.

I hope you have a wonderful break, enjoy time with family and friends, re-charge those batteries and I look forward to welcoming you back for Term 2.
