Senior Report

Miss Langley - Senior Classroom Teacher

This fortnight for Literacy in the senior room we have been learning about Factual Recounts. The students have been writing recounts about recent events in the school such as the Bunnings incursion for Mother's Day. We have started to play Boggle this term and the kids are loving it! Boggle is a great way to get the students thinking about building words and to develop their vocabulary.

For Numeracy we have started focusing on fractions, the students have been working on identifying halves, quarters, eighths and equivalent fractions. Some of our older students have been learning how to compare fractions. The students enjoyed making pizzas and using their knowledge of fractions to build their pizza toppings!

The students were busy in the first week of term getting their dioramas ready for the Bridgewater ANZAC Day dawn service. The students did a wonderful job of their dioramas and were excellent at the dawn service. It was lovely to be able to use the Art room as an indoor/outdoor learning space and work outside in the sunshine whilst the students constructed their dioramas. We received so many compliments from community members on the students behaviour. Great job everyone!
