Teaching & Learning

This Week at LPPS

This week at LPPS, our year 5 and 6 students had the opportunity to listen to the author Louise Parks who visited our school.

Louise has written many stories and spoke about how, as an author, she uses different strategies to come up with ideas. She also discussed the number of edits it takes to produce some great writing, ready for publishing.

Louise is the author of “Last Man Out” which relates to the last man out of Gallipolli who was her grandfather.

She shared his experiences with the students as documented through his diaries.

Students really enjoyed being able to relate their novel studies to real life experiences.

This term, our year 3-6 students will be focusing on novels that embed cultural immersion through indigenous studies.
