Principal's Report

Newsletter Report Acting Principal April 2025
Welcome Back!
We hope all our families enjoyed a safe and happy break! It’s been wonderful to see our students return so settled and ready to learn. We've focused on establishing consistent, predictable routines, which has helped everyone ease back into the school rhythm quickly.
Our school grounds and facilities are looking fantastic, thanks to the hard work completed over the holidays—there's even fresh sand in the sandpit! You may also notice some new markings around the school; the Department is working on installing ramps to improve accessibility, and that project will continue throughout the term.
It’s shaping up to be a busy and exciting term. Our teachers will be completing First Aid training, as well as a Behaviour Management course through Real Schools, which aligns with the Department’s School Wide Positive Behaviours framework. As always, we remain committed to delivering high-quality learning across all areas of the curriculum—Literacy, Numeracy, and Wellbeing.
Please make sure you're checking your COMPASS calendar regularly. All upcoming events are now posted there. It's important to action permissions and payments before the listed deadlines—typically 10 days prior to events—as this helps us finalise costs and staffing.
School Council has a few major projects underway this term. One of the big tasks has been reviewing our After School Care service. After a thorough process, including reviewing expressions of interest from multiple providers, they are working to ensure we continue to offer the best possible service for our community.
As you may be aware, there is an election coming up, and School Council is organising a fundraising BBQ and Bake Sale on the day. We’d love your support—whether that’s helping out, baking, or simply stopping by. Stay tuned for more details soon!
We also held a respectful ANZAC Day assembly this week, where we reflected on the courage, sacrifice, and mateship of Australian and New Zealand soldiers, especially those who served in World War I. It was a valuable opportunity for our students to connect with this important part of our history.
Week 1 may have been a short one, but it’s been a strong start to the term. Enjoy the upcoming long weekend—we’re looking forward to a fantastic Term 2 ahead!
Kind regards
Deb Haddow
